I didn't want to be the lead in the school play. I auditioned so that I would have Mr. O'Malley's undivided attention, even if just for a few moments while I read for the part. But then I get the role and I have to kiss Romeo. I never imagined that Mr. O'Malley would guide us through stage kissing or that his lips would ever press against mine. Once they do, something changes inside me. And I can see something change inside him as well.
